Trainee Marine Engineering under UK process

This 4 pre-sea course imparts extensive coaching in shipboard exercise. It consists of instructors and deliver familiarization along with Marine Work shop coaching (as per IMO modules). Then the applicant will cruise as a Motor Cadet with stipend. 100% positioning will rest confident by the academia.

Eligibility:
  • B Tech (ME / ELEC / EEE / AUTO)
  • Engineering Degree from an AICTE approved college
  • Min 50% Overall
  • Min 50% marks in English in either 10th or 12th Std
  • Age below 25 years as on date of start of course
  • Medically fit certified by a Govt. approved doctor
  • Eye sight  ±  2.5
  • No colour blindness
  • Fluency in English

Age:

It should not exceed 27 yrs. on the date of commencement of training

Medical fitness:

Medically fit with eyesight 6/6, without external aids and color blindness


Admission Procedure:

  • Learners will acquire a Correspondence of Evaluation (LOC) from NARIC, UK which will state that their level certification acquired from Indian is comparative to a English Bachelor's level. The timeframe to acquire this certification will be about 45 times. This procedure can be started only after the college student has acquired his level passing certification from his School.

  • Obtaining a Letter of Initial Assessment (LIA) from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), UK. This procedure can be done only after getting the LOC from NARIC. The timeframe needed to acquire the LIA from the MCA is roughly 45 times.

  • After getting his LIA, the college student will do the 4 basic STCW 95 programs i.e. Individual Success Techniques (PST), Individual Safety and Social Liability (PSSR), Flame Protection & Flame Battling (FPFF) and Primary First Aid (EFA). Time length needed for finishing the above described 4 programs will be about 2 – 3 weeks roughly.

  • After finishing the 4 STCW programs, Ongoing Release Certificate (CDC) will be used for the college student. It may take anywhere between 1 – 2 several weeks to get the CDC. The CDC is like a seafarer’s identification papers and is a compulsory need for a person becoming a member of deliver.

  • After getting the CDC, there will be a gap of 1 – 2 several weeks before the college student connects deliver. On the deliver, he will be working in the capacity of a Student Underwater Professional and will get a stipend in the variety of 200 – 300 USD / month. Food and housing will be absolutely free on the deliver.   • The college student will be released with an MNTB Coaching History Guide from the UK college prior to his becoming a member of deliver.
